Launched in 2014, TAKE ON HATE is a campaign that challenges the persistent discrimination and misperception of Arab and Muslim Americans in the U.S., including refugees.
The heinous hate crimes taking place against Palestinian and Arab Americans in the United States are not happening in isolation. The United States’ support for Israel’s genocide against Gaza, the systemic exclusion of Palestinian and Arab Americans from civil rights protections, and the historic dehumanization of Palestinian and Arab Americans in the media has led to a landscape where our communities fear for their own safety and wellbeing, as well as that of their loved ones.
Some recent incidents of hate include:
“Funeral held for 6-year-old Palestinian-American child killed in hate crime“
“Former Obama official charged with harassment, stalking of halal cart vendor“
“Farmington Hills man charged with terrorism after making threats against Palestinians in Dearborn“
“Three Palestinian students aged 20 shot in Vermont, US: What to know“
The media is ignoring our voices and stories, but we want to amplify them. Please use to the box to the right to submit your story if you have experienced something similar.
Please share any incidents of discrimination you have experienced. Include information on where, how, and when this happened and other information you think might be relevant.
